General Requirements.

As required by the Superintendent, a prototype tower of each tower type comprising the maximum height to be used on the project, together with all body and leg extension combinations as required in the Schedules shall be assembled at the Vijay Transmission Pvt Ltd Workshop. Production run tower fabrication shall not commence until the Superintendent has approved such prototypes. All parts of each structure type are to be trial assembled in the horizontal attitude. The structure is to be carefully supported on blocks to ensure that the structure is not subjected to undue bending which may distort the fit of the various members and plates. As far as is practicable, the trial assembly shall form the complete structure. If it is necessary to trial assemble portions only, then the number of portions shall be kept to a minimum and shall be complete with all secondary bracing and ancillary items such as climbing aids and rest platforms. Each sub-assembly is to be positioned and orientated close to its mating sub-assembly such that a clear appreciation of the whole concept can be obtained. All fasteners (nuts, bolts, etc.) shall be adequately tightened to ensure that the various members are in close contact and all movements between adjacent members and/or fixings has been eliminated.
